ITS expands number of securities from Kazakh issuers in flagship ITSW index
The international trading platform ITS is changing the methodology for calculating the ITS World Index (ITSW). Based on an analysis of regional group dynamics and due to insufficient representation of the Kazakhstan region, which was represented by only two companies, the number of issuers from Kazakhstan will increase by three. Accordingly, the number of issuers in the Americas, Europe, and Asia regional groups will decrease in each group. At the same time, the weights of the regional groups will remain unchanged.
The weight of the Kazakhstan region will stay at 4%, while the number of its securities in the index will increase to five. The weight of the Americas region will remain at 38%, with the number of its securities in the index decreasing to 18. The weight of the Asia region will remain at 30%, with the number of its securities decreasing to 14. The weight of the Europe region will remain at 28%, with the number of its securities decreasing to 13.
The changes to the methodology will be implemented during the upcoming scheduled rebalancing, to take effect on February 10, 2026.
After the rebalancing, the following securities will be added to the index:
- FRHC (Freedom Holding Corp.)
- KAP.Y (Kazatomprom)
- HSBK.Y (Halyk Bank)
- SONY (Sony Group).
The following securities will be removed from the index:
- CHKP – due to a reduction in the Asia quota
- ALC – due to a reduction in the Europe quota
- LI – due to a 26.37% decline in the company’s average market capitalization
- NFLX – due to a 34.5% decline in average market capitalization, as well as a reduction in the U.S. quota
